Olive Omo Forster is a committed gender and development practitioner, social advocate, and emerging leader from Freetown, Sierra Leone, with a strong academic and professional background in gender equality, human rights, and community development. Born on 15 July 2000, Olive has consistently demonstrated resilience, leadership, and a deep passion for service, creativity, and social transformation.

She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Gender and Development Studies at Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone, building on her Diploma in Gender and Development Studies earned from the same institution. Her academic training has provided her with a solid grounding in Gender and Development (GAD) theory, feminist perspectives, and rights-based approaches, enabling her to critically analyze gendered power relations, social structures, and cultural norms that affect women, girls, and marginalized groups. Olive is fluent in English and Krio, allowing her to effectively engage with diverse communities and stakeholders.

Professionally, Olive serves as the Human Resource Manager at Girls Alliance Incorporation (2025–Present), where she leads HR operations, oversees recruitment processes, manages staff records and attendance, and supports the development of a healthy, inclusive, and gender-responsive organizational culture. Her role reflects her ability to combine leadership, administrative competence, and people-centered approaches within a women-focused civil society organization.

 

Olive also brings strong project and advocacy experience. As a Project Officer with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) / SAADA FBC Chapter (2025), she played a key role in planning and implementing awareness and rehabilitation initiatives, coordinating stakeholders, managing monitoring and evaluation processes, and supporting budgeting activities. Earlier, during her internship at the Human Rights Commission of Sierra Leone (2023), she supported gender and child rights programs, community outreach, research activities, and the preparation of reports and official meeting minutes, gaining valuable exposure to institutional human rights work.

Her experience further extends into governance and public service through her role as an Assistant Journal Entry Officer at the National Civil Registration Authority (NCRA) in 2021, where she managed registration records and supported confirmation exercises. Olive is also a trained fashion designer and currently works as an Assistant Fashion Designer at Anielaz Fashion & Designs (2024–Present), contributing to creative production and design for both men’s and women’s fashion. This creative dimension complements her advocacy work and reflects her belief in creativity as a tool for empowerment and self-expression.

Olive’s achievements highlight her excellence and commitment to personal and professional growth. She was recognized as Best Poem Writer at the Feminist Forge Retreat (2025) and has received multiple certificates, including participation in the Girls Rise Up Seminar (2023), an Award of Excellence from WeLearn Online Course – Cohort 10 (2020), and certifications in Recycling and Waste Management, Human Rights Education, and Virtual Mentorship. These accomplishments demonstrate her multidisciplinary interests and dedication to continuous learning.

Known for her strong communication skills, creativity, analytical thinking, and teamwork, Olive is an optimistic and resilient individual with proven leadership abilities. She enjoys reading, writing, sewing, and engaging in capacity-building initiatives that support women and young people. Through the integration of academic scholarship, advocacy, creative practice, and organizational leadership, Olive Omo Forster remains deeply committed to advancing gender equality, strengthening community resilience, and contributing to sustainable, inclusive development in Sierra Leone and beyond.
