Osman Bai Kamara

Osman Bai Kamara is a dedicated gender and development practitioner, youth advocate, and project management professional with over five years of experience designing and implementing community development initiatives across Sierra Leone. As the Co-Founder and General Overseer of Girls Alliance Incorporation (GAI), he provides strategic leadership in advancing the organization's mission to empower girls and young women through education, leadership development, advocacy, skills training, and community engagement.

With extensive experience in project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and programme management, Osman has successfully led community outreach initiatives, strengthened partnerships with local leaders and development partners, and coordinated advocacy campaigns that promote gender equality, youth empowerment, and social inclusion. His expertise spans programme planning, monitoring and reporting, research, and community mobilization, enabling him to deliver impactful, evidence-based interventions that respond to the needs of vulnerable communities.

 

Prior to co-founding GAI, Osman served in leadership and programme management roles with youth-led organizations, where he coordinated projects, managed programme implementation, and supported strategic planning and resource mobilization. His commitment to empowering young people and promoting inclusive development has earned him recognition for his leadership and dedication to community service.

Osman holds a Bachelor of Arts in Gender and Development Studies from Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone. He is passionate about building sustainable partnerships, strengthening local capacity, and creating opportunities that enable girls and young people to become confident leaders and active contributors to national development. Guided by a vision of equity and social justice, he continues to champion innovative solutions that inspire positive change and transform communities across Sierra Leone.
